Kelly Fleck

Kelly Fleck, a 2002 Statesville High School graduate, won four 3A state championships during her high school career. She won a championship in every category available, team, singles and doubles. Fleck was key to two team titles in 1999 and 2000 as a sophomore and a junior. As a junior she won the state doubles championship. Her senior year she won the state singles championship. Fleck’s singles career record was 81-6, with all losses her freshman and sophomore years. She was undefeated in singles and doubles as a junior and senior.
In 2001, Fleck won the US Tennis Association North Carolina Girls-18 State Tournament in both singles and doubles. She ended the year as the #1 ranked player in North Carolina.
With those impressive accomplishments, Fleck was awarded a full scholarship to Elon University for tennis. Fleck played #1 and #2 singles and doubles all four years. She was a 3-time MVP for Elon and was named Southern Conference Player of the Week, as a junior and senior. Fleck excelled in the classroom as well, as she was named Academic All-Southern Conference as a senior.
