Keith Lawrence

Keith Lawrence graduated from Statesville High School in 1983. Keith was a standout in football, basketball and track for the Greyhounds. In football, Keith was the starting quarterback with a record of 23-3. He was a starter in the 1982 Shrine Bowl and named All-State. Keith never lost a game to another Iredell County team and he was undefeated in conference games. Keith was selected as one of the top 50 greatest football players in Iredell County history.

In basketball, Lawrence was a defensive specialist, leading the Greyhounds in rebounds and blocked shots. He was named All-Conference and Holiday Tournament Team. Co-captain Lawrence was All-Conference in four different events in track.

After graduation, Keith went to UNC to play football on full scholarship. He came back to Statesville upon graduation and began his life as a community man.
