John McNeely

John McNeely is a highly respected PGA professional. Throughout his career, he has been associated with and taught at some of golf’s finest courses, including Winged Foot Golf Club, site of numerous Major championships where he worked under 1948 Masters Champion Claude Harmon. Other prestigious clubs include Thunderbird Country Club, River Oaks Country Club, Annandale Golf Club, Grandfather Golf and Country Club and The Floridian. He was the longtime face of prestigious Diamond Creek and the visionary of Congaree, one of the most unique golf operations in the world.

Across his career, John has instructed winners at the collegiate level, the LPGA Tour, the European Tour, the PGA Tour and the Champions Tour. He has also instructed the president of the United States and the king of Morocco. He was selected as Global Golf Post’s 2023 “Pro’s Pro” saluting an exemplary professional who embodies the game of golf.

John played golf at East Tennessee State where his teams had consecutive top ten finishes at the NCAA national championship. Out of South Iredell High School, John signed a scholarship to play basketball at NC State, the same recruiting class as legendary David Thompson. Injuries forced his highly successful transition to golf. He played in the East/West All-Star basketball game in 1970. At South, he was all-conference in basketball, golf and football.
