Jerome Henderson

Jerome Henderson is the defensive passing game coordinator of the NY Giants after serving in similar positions with the Atlanta Falcons (Super Bowl LI), Dallas Cowboys, Cleveland Browns and NY Jets, nearly 20 years as an NFL coach. The Giants’ defensive coordinator said Henderson “is the best secondary coach in the League.” The only Iredell County native to play and coach in the Super Bowl, he played in two, with the Buffalo Bills in 1992 and the New England Patriots in 1997. He also played for the Philadelphia Eagles and NY Jets in his eight-year NFL career and recorded nine interceptions.
Prior to his NFL career, he played at Clemson, winning two Citrus Bowls, a Gator Bowl and a Hall of Fame Bowl, along with three ACC Championships. He was drafted 41st overall in the Second Round of the 1991 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots.
Jerome was a 4-sport standout at West Iredell in football, basketball, baseball and track. He was All-Conference in football, baseball and track. In the first game of his senior season at Alexander Central, he scored five touchdowns and was honored as the WBTV and WSOC Player of the Week. He led West Iredell to its only 10-0 season in school history.
