Bobby Graham

Bobby Graham was a three-sport athlete for the Statesville Greyhounds. He played football (25 touchdowns in two years), basketball (Foothills Player of the Year) and ran track (twice All- Conference). Bobby was named MVP in both basketball and football twice, as well, most outstanding runner for track. Also, Bobby was a member of the Shrine Bowl and East/ West All-Star team. He was also named NCHSAA Scholar Athlete and Academic All-Star in 1997.
Graham, ranked #10 recruit in NC, chose Tennessee over Notre Dame, Clemson, UVA, UNC and others. He made a play remembered in Tennessee football history. Tennessee was down against Memphis late in the 4th quarter. Future NFL quarterback Tee Martin launched a bomb to a streaking Graham. Graham leapt over a Memphis defender and made the catch, taking it to the 6 yard line for a 53-yard reception. Tennessee’s ensuing touchdown ensured going two straight seasons without a home loss at Neyland Stadium. Graham was key to a December 2001 win against Florida with 7 catches for 71 yards. Graham played in the Fiesta Bowl, Cotton Bowl and was Citrus Bowl champion his senior year.
