Addie Holbrook Hightower

Addie Holbrook Hightower graduated from Statesville High School and starred in basketball for the Greyhounds. She was 3-time All-Conference and 2-time Conference Player of the Year. She was honored by the Winston-Salem Journal as the area’s top female basketball player with their Mary Garber Award. She finished her career at SHS with 2,001 points. Addie was selected Associated Press All-State and played in the East/West All-Star game in 1995. She was the leading scorer in the prestigious game.

Addie went on to have a stellar career at Wingate University, scoring 1,350 in her three years after a freshman injury. She was All South Atlantic Conference those three years and finished second in the nation in three-point percentage her junior year.
