Mike Carter

Mike Carter was football coach and athletic director at Mooresville High School from 1989 to 2003. He led the football team to a record of 139-40 and seven conference championships. 12 out of 14 years his teams made the state playoffs.

Carter was named conference Coach of the Year seven times. He was selected to coach the East/West All-Star Game and the North Carolina Shrine Bowl team.

During his time as athletic director, he was instrumental in renovations and upgrades to all athletic facilities at Mooresville High School. He was a man that never used the word “I” but used the word “We” around his program.
He was enshrined in the Mooresville High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2008.
