David Cash, Sr.

David R. Cash, Sr. was a three-sport athlete at South Iredell High School from 1965-1969 playing football, wrestling and track for the Vikings. He was named to the North Piedmont All-Conference Team in 1967 and 1968 for football. His senior football season he was named Captain, Most Outstanding Player, named to the Greensboro Daily News All-State Football Team and was selected to play in the East-West All-Star Game. For wrestling, David was Captain, Western North Carolina State Runner-up and Most Outstanding Wrestler in the 1968-69 season. He was named All-Conference in track and wrestling in 1969. David was active off the field of play as a member of Student Council as Student Body President and a member of the Junior Jaycees Club, Monogram Club and Yearbook Staff.

David went on to play at the University of South Carolina on full scholarship. He was a three-year starter, named All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Team in 1970 and 1971 and Dean’s List in 1969-1973.
