Whitey Meadows

Whitey Meadows is known for coaching the Mooresville American Legion Post 66 baseball team for over 35 years. He led them to the Area III Finals in 1981 and won the Southern Division Title in 1990. He was inducted in the North Carolina American Legion Hall of Fame in 1994.

He played American Legion baseball in 1951 and signed with the Cincinnati Reds in 1953 at the age of 17.

He played for the Detroit Tigers and Chicago White Sox before coming back to the region to play semi-pro baseball.

He was awarded the Book of Golden Deeds Award from the Mooresville-Lake Norman Exchange Club for his continued dedication to the Mooresville Community.
